This is the story of how Sweet Poppin’s ® got started:
In 2003, Tashia Johnson-St.Clair had a dream where she saw from start to finish the process for making gourmet flavored chocolate covered popcorn. Tashia decided to try and duplicate the process that she saw in her dream. The only flavoring she had at the time was Pralines & Cream. After several attempts, she finally got the popcorn to look exactly how she envisioned it. She took some to a Vacation Bible School pitch-in at her church and came back with an empty bowl. She knew she was onto something great!
The next flavor tested was Blueberry Cheesecake. She thought, “ Why not have the blueberry blue and the cheesecake white?” She tried it and it turned out to be a hit!
Her then husband knew that she was onto something big. He took the popcorn to work and collected orders. His co-workers gave him the nickname “Popcorn Man”. The popcorn went over so well, that samples were literally stolen from other workers’ tool boxes!
A year later, Tashia acquired a commercial kitchen to produce Sweet Poppin’s ®. Since the inception of Sweet Poppin’s ®, over 30 popcorn flavors and/or combinations have been created. New flavor combinations are being created every month. Gourmet flavored chocolate covered popcorn has become her passion.
Tashia gives all credit to God. He gave her the vision and He will see her through.
